Purpose of compensation chain/rope
During the operation of the elevator, the relative position of the elevator car and the counterweight changes continuously, which will cause the weight difference of the steel wire rope on both sides of the guide wheel to change.

The higher the elevator lifting height: the greater the difference in the deadweight of the steel wire rope on both sides of the guide wheel, the greater the impact on the electric gravity and the power of the drive motor. In order to compensate for the deadweight of the steel wire rope to eliminate the above-mentioned influence, it is necessary to consider setting up a compensation device according to the elevator lifting height to ensure sufficient electric gravity and drive motor power.
Therefore, the role of the compensation device is to ensure that the deadweight difference of the steel wire rope will not affect the gravity, nor will it require a larger drive motor power, and it can save energy, regardless of the height of the elevator car.
Of course, whether the compensation device needs to be set up can be determined by calculation and testing. If there is sufficient traction and drive motor power, then the compensation device can be set up.
