I. Before performing the test, ensure that the following conditions are met:
1. The elevator is in Machine Room Inspection mode.
2. The landing doors and car doors are securely closed, and the door interlock circuit is closed.
3. The system is currently free of any active faults.
II. Using the main control board's keypad, set parameter F-8 to "8" to manually trigger the self-test. The main board display will show "E88." The Star-point Contactor (FX) will engage (if present), the Run Contactor (KK) will engage, and the Brake Contactor (KB) will remain disengaged (i.e., the brake will not lift). The Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) will then output current; the process typically completes after approximately 10 seconds.
If no fault codes are displayed, this indicates that the brake holding force self-test was successful.
III. If the brake holding force test fails, the system will report fault "E66," indicating insufficient brake holding force (this fault requires a re-test of the brake holding force—which must pass—before it can be reset). You must first inspect the brake assembly and adjust the braking force; subsequently, manually trigger the test several times to confirm that the adjusted braking force now meets the required specifications.
IV. Upon completion of the test, return the Machine Room Inspection switch to its normal operating position.
V. Additionally, the system automatically monitors whether the lifting and releasing actions of the left and right brake switches are executed correctly. If an incorrect action is detected, fault "E37" will be generated, and the elevator will cease operation (including door closing). The elevator must then be reset by qualified professional personnel. Reset Method: While in Inspection mode, press the "STOP" button on the handheld operator, or set parameter F-2 to "1" via the main control board's keypad to manually perform the reset.
